Oakmont of Montecito

The people (aka, Care Teams) providing Care are great! Unfortunately, Ownership sold out to a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) which of course places profit over Senior Care, thus resulting in reduced services and quality of Care. Look elsewhere for Senior Assisted Living.

This place should be negative stars and shut down. Sure it looks nice, the food is good and the actives are fun for the residence but what about safety. When the electricity goes out, nothing works. No backup systems. Phones are out, place is dark and no staff bothers to check on residence. Separately, my dad lived here for 8 years and needed to use his emergency call button 3 times. All 3 times it didn't work. The most resent was 3 weeks ago 9/14/25, the other times were in 2024 and earlier. All 3 times we complained, had meetings and got the foolishly accepted their polished excuses.

Traditions is so well managed with very helpful staff. As a homehealth nurse I go to a lot of ALF and this by far the best
